A dad was left covered in blood after slicing his hand open on razor blades hidden in a children’s swing at a play park.
Ross Lambert, 39, took to Facebook to warn others and slam the ‘scum’ who planted the sharp blades at the kids play area on Leyland Road in Bathgate, Scotland.
Ross, who was at the park with his with his 13-year-old daughter Chloe, had to go to A&E to stitch up the deep cut.
He said he was grateful it was him and not a young child who was cut by the blade.
He wrote: ‘Took my daughter and dog to the little park at Wester Inch, found this embedded in the swing.
‘What little scum does this? Imagine it was a 4yr old who “found” it rather than me?’
Leanne Marshall added: ‘Ross is away to A and E to get his hand seen.
‘Council are on the way to fully inspect the park and we have reported it to the police too.
‘I also reported it to Wester Inch Community Association to get them to share and make our locals aware. Some a****** scumbag needs a good kick up the jacksie.’
West Lothian Council commented on the ‘worrying’ incident and said: ‘This has been a reckless and worrying incident. We have been made aware, the site has been inspected and the item is no longer in the area.
‘We regularly inspect and maintain our play areas to ensure they are safe. We would encourage members of the public to report any issues they come across.’
Police in the area said they were aware of the incident and are investigating.
Razor blades were also found taped to a children’s slide in the Lancashire area in December.
Police urged parents to check playgrounds after blades were discovered at the Winifred Lane Play area.
A statement read: ‘Parents, please be aware that razor blades/knife blades have been attached to the side of the children’s slide at the Winifred Lane Play area in Aughton, West Lancs, this morning.
‘We would ask everyone to be vigilant and check any play equipment before you let your child use it.
‘If anyone has any information about this we’d urge them to contact us as soon as possible.
‘Whoever did this could have caused serious injury to a child – please be assured we are fully investigating this matter.’
