Joe Swash still has a cockroach ‘squatting’ in his ear after it crawled its way inside during the Catch A Falling Star bushtucker trial on I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp.

Joe took on the trial with actor Dean Gaffney and ended up coming away with a bit more than a star.

The presenter had to go to hospital in an attempt to have the critter syringed out.

But he revealed on Monday night’s show that the bug is still there and it’s causing quite a stink.

Joe said: ‘It’s not out. I’ve got a cockroach in my ear, it’s been there two days, it’s squatting.’

Extra Camp co-host Scarlett Moffatt added: ‘It stinks. he keeps getting everyone to sniff it.’

To prove his point he got guest Sam Thompson to have a sniff of his, which he did for some reason, and sat back in horror covering his nose as the stench hit him.

‘Oh mate that’s actually rank. I don’t understand how you can live with that in your ear, it’s so intense,’ Sam said.

Joe said: ‘You can smell it dying in my ear. But don’t worry though, it’s coming out today. I’ll bring him in so you can all see it.’

So that’ll be another trip to the doc’s for Joe then.

Joe looked pretty uncomfortable in a video he shared on social media of himself getting the ‘roach syringed out.

Documenting his trip to the hospital on Instagram, he said: ‘So, we’re just on the way to the hospital to get a cockroach sucked out of my ear. All the perks of this job, eh!’

He then shared a follow-up clip in which he said: ‘Just walking up to the hospital. Still can’t quite believe that I’ve got an animal that’s living in my ear hole.

‘Don’t make yourself at home son, because you’re coming out!’

He dropped the bombshell to his followers that doctors had been unable to help him get the critter out of his body.

He said: ‘Just got out the hospital. Doctor said they can’t get the cockroach out my ear. I’ve got to see a specialist tomorrow so they can use some special equipment on it.’
