The DJ, who is believed to have split from the singer recently, shared a news article about Keith’s passing.
She was believed to have been in her native Japan when news broke that Keith – whom she married in 2006 – had passed away, after emergency services attended his Essex home.
A post from her official Twitter account this morning shared a Japanese news story about the late singer, in which his band called him ‘a true pioneer, innovator and legend’.
While she didn’t share any message of her own, she appeared to support his bandmates’ statement that read: ‘It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint.
‘A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed.
‘We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.’
Some fans wondered why she merely re-tweeted the message instead of sharing her own, however in this time of mourning many shared their condolences.
Mayumi is a DJ, actress and model from Tokyo who performs as DJ Gedo Super Mega Bitch, more recently adding ‘Mrs Flint 4’ to her stage name.
The pair were reported to have married in December 2006 in a star-studded ceremony with guests reported to have included David Gest, Liam Gallagher, Natalie Appleton and Matt Willis.
He previously told The Times how they met, saying: ‘We were talking and she just walked into this room we were in, and you know how it is, I just couldn’t talk, I was overwhelmed.’
He added: ‘I’d done my fair share of drugs and shagging around. Look, we all like to get busy, but in truth I was a bit worn through with it.’
Prior to meeting Mayumi, Keith was in a relationship with presenter Gail Porter, although the couple split in 2000.
Keith was found dead at his home on Monday morning in Dunmow, Essex.
Police confirmed he had passed away in statement, confirming that the star was ‘pronounce dead at the scene’ and his death is ‘not being treated as suspicious’.
His cause of death hasn’t yet been confirmed, but Keith’s bandmate Liam Howlett told fans he took his own life.
New reports now claim that Keith had been battling with depression in the lead up to his death, following his split from ex-wife Mayumi and sources told The Sun that Keith had put his home up for sale since their recent split.
