A man’s face was ripped apart by a belt in a nightclub toilet in the early hours of this morning.
The victim, 34, needed surgery to patch his face up after the attack at Bentley’s Bar in Clacton, Essex.
Police are hunting the suspects, and want to speak to anyone who may have seen two men they believe to be connected to the attack.
The victim’s father shared images of his son’s injuries on Facebook to highlight the attack and help the manhunt.
He said: ‘This is what some lowlife scum has done to our son in sunny Clacton on sea.
‘Paul and his pal we’re in the toilets having a wee. Guy attacked him with a belt with a blade in it somehow. Totally unprovoked.’
Bentley’s Bar wrote on Facebook: ‘Last night we had a guy get hit in the face with a belt, the outcome of this wasn’t nice, we was really busy last night so someone will know who did this, give us a name and I will pay you £5,000 on the arrest of who did it.
‘Time to clean up Clacton of the scum bags who think there gangsters, please share this as much as you can.’
Details about two suspects have been released, both white and in their 20s, and are being sought by police.
Essex Police said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses after a man was slashed in the face. The 34-year-old man was involved in an argument with two men in the toilets at Bentley’s Bar in Marine Parade East, Clacton, at 1am today, Sunday 10 February.
‘One of the men hit the victim in the face with a belt, causing a large slash wound, which will require surgery.’
One had very short hair and wore blue jeans and a grey top, the other had slicked dark hair and wore a navy trench coat and scarf.
The police added: ‘Anyone with information is asked to call Clacton CID on 101 quoting reference 42/21911/19.’
