Meghan and Kate in rare public appearance together to honour Prince Charles

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have come together for a rare joint appearance at a party to celebrate Prince Charles.

The Royal family gathered at Buckingham Palace to attend the Queen’s party in honour of Charles’ 50th anniversary as Prince of Wales.

It is the first time the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge have been seen together this year.

Harry, 34, and William, 36, along with their wives and the heir to the throne were pictured stepping into the White Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace.

The last time the four of them were seen together was at the annual church service at Sandringham on Christmas Day.

The Duchess of Sussex, who is expecting in April, glowed in an Amanda Wakeley white coat and floral dress, while the Duchess of Cambridge opted for a high-neck buttoned dress.

The Queen threw the party to celebrate her son’s 50th year as Prince of Wales (Picture: PA)

Prime Minister Theresa May was also one of the guests in attendance honouring Charles’ contribution to Wales over the decades.

Charles was created the Prince of Wales at the age of nine, on July 26 1958, and was formally invested with the title at Caernarfon Castle by the Queen on July 1 1969.

The investiture regalia he wore was on display, including the coronet, sword, ring and rod, as well as the Letters Patent for the creation of Charles as Prince of Wales in 1958.

Welsh band Stereophonics, who were supported by the Prince’s Trust in their early days, were also at the event.

Meanwhile, Game Of Thrones star Owen Teale was also one of the celebrities who turned up to celebrate Charles.
